4.1 Thermodynamic considerations
Latent heat is the heat involved in the phase change of a material, whether solid-liquid (figure 10 ) or liquid-vapor, and vice versa. At a constant temperature, latent heat is available in much greater quantities than sensible heat, which corresponds to a limited temperature variation.
