4. Installing thermal insulation
Industrial insulation involves a number of installation techniques, chosen according to the nature of the equipment to be insulated (pipes, tanks, valves, etc.), thermal constraints, accessibility and required performance. Here are the main methods used.
4.1 Installing preformed shells
Description: shells (often made of rock wool, glass wool, elastomer foam or polyurethane) are manufactured to fit the shape of the pipe. They open longitudinally and close around the pipe.
Finish: aluminium, stainless steel, PVC or other material for mechanical protection and waterproofing.
Advantages: rapid installation, excellent adaptation to linear networks, easy dismantling and maintenance....
