Figure 8 illustrates the general architecture of a CBTC system:

• are installed on the track: markers and train presence detection sensors;

• there is no constraint on the location of the supervision center, the interlocking logic and the ground speed control equipment: this equipment can be installed anywhere there is access to the telecommunications network;

• all equipment has a dual connection to the network;

• the double attachment of on-board equipment in the train is obviously non-wireless;
