2. Finite element modeling of the human head

The finite element numerical model of the human head used in this study is that developed at the University of Strasbourg, and more specifically at the Institut de mécanique des fluides et des solides, Unité mixte de recherche 7507 [1] . It includes the main anatomical components of the human head, i.e. the scalp, the cranium and the facial mass, the interface between the brain and the skull consisting of the meninges (dura mater, arachnoid and pie mater), blood vessels and cerebrospinal fluid, the brain and cerebellum, the brain scythe and the cerebellum tent. The scalp is the name given to the skin covering the head. It is also known as the scalp. The meninges are the membranes found between the brain and the skull.
