2. Propellant powders
Propellant powder is a product designed to propel a projectile in a tube-action weapon. The powder is placed in the breech of the barrel and ignited by a primer or primer tube (§ 6.1.1 ). The gases generated by its combustion raise the pressure in the breech, which is closed on the tube side by the projectile, applying a force that sets it in motion
