4. Traceability and archiving

With the dematerialization of documents, companies are faced with the legal obligation of archiving "immaterial" documents, replacing paper documents. On this point, we will first examine the legal aspects of archiving (4.1), and then look at the technical means of electronic document archiving (4.2).

4.1 Legal aspects

First of all, it's important to distinguish between archiving, storage and backup, as these three notions are sometimes confused. From a technical point of view, electronic archiving can be defined as "all the actions, tools and methods implemented to preserve information in the medium or long term, with a view to exploiting it
