Traçabilité métrologique; metrological traceability

The property of a measurement result that it can be related to a reference through an unbroken, documented chain of calibrations, each of which contributes to the uncertainty of measurement.

Incertitude; uncertainty

Non-negative parameter characterizing the dispersion of values assigned to a measurand, based on the information used.

Reference material; certified reference

A material which is sufficiently homogeneous and stable with respect to specified properties, and which has been prepared so as to be suitable for its intended use for measurement or for the examination of qualitative properties....
