5. Conditions of use and maintenance

The pallet boxes and other containers described in this document are designed for repeated use in mechanical handling, stacked storage and transport.

These devices will be handled by forklift and pallet truck. They can also be crane-operated if slinging elements are provided. For static and dynamic stacking, the manufacturer's instructions must be followed, whether the crates are loaded or empty, in which case they must be assembled folded.

The skids sometimes provided under the containers enable them to be handled on roller trains. They are also useful for avoiding the risk of slipping or tipping when handling with forks. In some cases, they can be used to empty crates by turning them over, provided that the mechanical strength of the base plates is designed for this purpose.
