1. Transporters

Carriers perform a contract or service whose main purpose is to move goods.

Carriers are distinguished according to the mode of transport they use: land transport (road, rail or river), sea transport, air transport.

1.1 Road hauliers

The job of a road haulier involves transporting goods by road, over short or long distances, from a loading point to a delivery point, in compliance with the terms of the contract signed with the customer (deadlines, quality of service, etc.).

The "principal" is the customer who concludes the contract with the carrier.

Road hauliers do not own the goods, but they are responsible for them throughout the service.
