2. Figures: urban logistics data and statistics

Why should local authorities need to obtain detailed information on urban logistics when it's a private activity whose optimization needs mean that huge masses of data are already processed internally? For public administrations, good figures on urban logistics and its flows enable diagnoses to be made, which in turn enable more appropriate policies to be adopted to manage traffic, model flows to plan infrastructures, simulate the impact of measures, and facilitate the decarbonization of goods transport by establishing carbon footprints.

The data enables cost-benefit analyses of actions such as the introduction of low-emission zones. Providing information to transport professionals enables them to benchmark themselves against industry averages.
