2.1 Self-assessment: the first step towards prioritizing improvement projects
You don't need to have long experience of the EFQM Excellence Model, nor to be an expert in the quantitative rating of the various criteria, to reap the first benefits. An overall understanding of the model and the use of simple questionnaires, consisting of a few dozen questions, can enable a management team to carry out a self-assessment of its organization, detect areas for improvement, prioritize them and select those which, in view of the resources it is willing and able to devote to these improvements, will enable it to make optimum progress.
