4. Numerical evaluation of detergency

4.1 Washing units

(Huret-Gochely-Moreau) – This is a "UL" unit which defines the efficiency of container washing, just as "UP" units define pasteurization units. These ULs depend on four factors:

  • the weather ;

  • temperature ;

  • NaOH concentration;

  • the physical application method (dipping or injection).

This is defined as follows.

  • Cc = concentration efficiency = cube root of C 2 .

    Examples

    C = 0.25, Cc = 0.4 – C = 0.50, Cc = 0.6...
