6. Conclusion

When designing a new product in the food industry, manufacturers first think about working on their product. Packaging often comes last. Any change in recipe or transformation process has an impact on the need for product packaging. Food manufacturers need to be aware that the design of their product's packaging is also a lengthy development not to be neglected.

The multilayer industry is evolving rapidly. Today, development efforts are focused on reducing the number of layers in structures, for both economic and ecological reasons.

New biodegradable or biocompostable materials are appearing on the market. They are increasingly being incorporated into new structures, despite their still high cost. Soaring prices for raw materials, and oil in particular, will only encourage the development of these new materials.
