4. Print finishing

Designing a packaging (and a graphic product) means considering the overall visual aspect, which may be accentuated by decoration and finishing techniques.

As printing processes reach their peak, finishing techniques provide the differentiation sought by marketing departments.

When a printed product leaves the printing press, it is far from finished. Finishing (sometimes called "post-press processing") refers to all the operations that can be carried out on a print product (in-line or independently).
