2. Manufacture of paper and cardboard packaging and articles

2.1 Manufacturing process

Paper and board converting is often a combination of elementary operations that can be separated into two main converting categories:

  • by mechanical or physical action ;

  • by physico-chemical actions.

These processing operations, whether combined or not, make it possible to manufacture packaging and articles intended for contact with foodstuffs, such as bags, boxes, crates, sheets and articles for domestic use.
