Paper-cardboard and the packaging made from it are used in food packaging (around 55%), but packaging in direct contact with food accounts for a very limited share (just over 10%) of applications
in the case of peeled and shelled foods, there is no real contact with the food being eaten.
The vast majority of paper-cardboard packaging used in the food industry is made up of secondary packaging, which groups together packages that are themselves sales units for consumers, and, above all, tertiary packaging (grouping packaging) intended for transport and logistical use.
