Strapping is a packaging technique whose role is to maintain and protect transported products. In its various applications, this technique represents an economical means of effectively reinforcing the safety of transport packaging.

The place that strapping occupies in the packaging industry, and the constant evolution of the products and processes it offers, demonstrate its ability to meet new needs resulting from the changes that regularly occur in the distribution sector. In this respect, it remains a forward-looking process, accompanying and even preceding market needs.

Research is currently underway into certain types of product, whose nature would enable strapping to be used to produce homogeneous loads that can be handled without a pallet. Positive results have already been obtained for building materials, but it now seems possible to extend this application, by adapting it, to the packaging of other product families.

Ongoing studies and control tests seem to confirm the validity of this approach, opening up new outlets for strapping.
