1. Washing containers

The purpose of container washing, which only concerns refillable or returnable containers, is to obtain a surface :

• physically clean and therefore free of foreign bodies;

• chemically clean and therefore free of any trace of chemical substances that may have soiled it, as well as any trace of detergent used for cleaning;

• bacteriologically pure and therefore free from germs harmful either to people or to the product.
