Specifications

The specification is perfectly defined in the NF X50-151 standard, which states that it is "a document in which the requester expresses his need (or that which he is asked to translate) in terms of service functions and constraints. For each of these, assessment criteria and their levels are defined. Each of these levels is accompanied by a degree of flexibility".

Stating requirements in functional terms, i.e. by specifying the ends sought without imposing pre-established technical solutions, provides every opportunity for innovative solutions to emerge, and guarantees clarity in future relations between the players involved, as well as efficiency in the execution of tasks.
