3.1 Fine

Any element, component, mechanism, subsystem, functional unit, equipment or system that can be considered individually.

Based on this general definition, it is up to users to define the list of "assets" that make up their technical system, and which will be the subject of the maintenance policy. This list, in which each asset is associated with its required function, serves as the basis for the customer/supplier relationship referred to in § 1.6
