2. Fractionation of macromolecular samples
Establishing the distribution curve of a polymer sample involves separating the sample into fractions that are as polymolecular as possible. Fractionation techniques are based either on differences in the solubility of the sample's constituent species, or more simply on differences in the molecular dimensions of these species.
