8. Conclusion

Bonding and lamination have been tried-and-tested techniques for decades for joining composites, whether conventional reinforced plastics or high-tech composites based on carbon fibers or reinforced thermoplastics.

Adhesives manufacturers are constantly striving to improve their performance, particularly in terms of heat resistance, mechanical performance, durability and impact resistance.

Adhesives will develop rapidly alongside composites in all industries. Adhesives will have to match the performance of the composite materials they bond.
