It's easy to see that the time required to form a finished macromolecule is in the order of seconds. The reaction times (batch processes) or throughput times (continuous processes) required to achieve reasonable monomer conversion rates are usually counted in hours (due to the very low concentration of free-radical active centers). Comparison of these characteristic times shows that the choice of reactor has no impact on the "instantaneous" or "local" distribution, which is determined by the kinetic scheme. The choice of reactor determines the variations in time and space of the reaction conditions (temperature, pressure, concentrations, etc.), i.e. the evolution of the "instantaneous" or "local" distribution.
