7. Conclusion
In the context of non-through machining (milling) using abrasive water jets, we have proposed an optimized methodology. This methodology was developed on an isotropic aluminum-type material and then validated on a long-fiber carbon/epoxy composite material. The quality of the results obtained is on a par with those previously presented on aluminum. By combining the experimental results obtained on aluminum and composite materials, we have defined a generalized material removal model [equation (10) ] in which the material is characterized by a machinability parameter U.
