4. Conclusion: towards a new industrial era for silicones

One of the main uses of silicone 3D printing is to produce prototypes and functional parts identical to the future part, quickly and without significant expense.

Thanks to a prototype designed using the additive manufacturing technologies presented in this article, the user will be able to develop his new concept both visually and functionally.

Today's industry and storage patterns are changing. Indeed, companies are tending to stock less. On-demand 3D printing is becoming more and more widespread, and also enables us to respond quickly to needs, while limiting the risks associated with storage time.

In the future, 3D printing of silicone parts could, depending on the technology, be carried out in controlled-atmosphere zones, enabling customized printing on demand.
