5. Glossary

Analyse Mécanique Dynamique AMD; Dynamic Mechanical Analysis DMA

A technique for measuring a material's viscoelastic properties (loss and storage moduli and loss factor), based on low-amplitude cyclic load/unload tests, in tension or flexion, at variable frequency and fixed temperature. Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) includes temperature variation, usually at a fixed frequency.

Differential Scanning Calorimetry DSC; Calorimétrie Différentielle à Balayage CDB

Thermal analysis technique based on the measurement of heat exchange differences between a sample to be analyzed and a reference during temperature variation at constant speed (heating and cooling). For polymers, it can be used to determine glass transition, melting and crystallization temperatures.
