3. Consumption and applications of PPE alloys

Global consumption of EPP alloys distinguishes between the slow growth of EPP/PS, and the rapid growth of EPP/PA.

Consumption of PPE/PS alloys will probably not exceed 400,000 t in 2012, of which 150,000 t in the United States and less than 80,000 t in Europe, and has always been much lower than in the United States, where, historically, General Electric has made great efforts to promote and win acceptance for Noryl.

Consumption of PPE/PA and other alloys has risen sharply. However, it is not known and is difficult to track due to the presence of a dominant supplier. Their market is estimated at some 100,000 t.

The breakdown of PPE alloy consumption, estimated at around 500,000 t worldwide, is as follows:
