7. Conclusion

The value of characterization lies in the representativeness of the results, which requires a sound knowledge of plastics, good organization and sufficient discipline to actually measure what needs to be measured.

Specimen preparation is following the same path of progress as plastics processing in general, mainly simplification, rationalization and automation in this particular case:

  • The simplification of preparation necessarily involves the use of new measuring methods, because for existing tests, test specimens play a fundamental role in obtaining quality results.
