Aciers lédéburitiques ; Ledeburitic steels

Steels with a high carbon and alloying element content. Their composition is such that, as cast, they contain a network of eutectic carbides that need to be broken by wrought-hardening (forging and counter-forging). The result is a very high carbide content, leading to exceptional wear resistance.

Carbide; carbide

Chemically defined compound containing at least one carbon atom and other generally metallic elements.

HRC ; HRC

Hardness index measured according to the Rockwell C method, defined by the standard EN ISO 6508-1 .
