6.1 Automotive and transport

The automotive and transport market, and in particular that of industrial vehicles, represents a major outlet for parts made from polyurethane, polyurea or polydicyclopentadiene using RIM technology.

Most exterior body parts for cars and commercial vehicles, made from polyurethane or polyurea materials, are filled with glass or mineral fibers (see article ).

By contrast, a new material has been on the market since the 1980s. This is polydicyclopentadiene, which is currently processed using RIM technology only. This material is currently used unfilled.
