1. Develop sampling strategy
Emission metrology must make it possible not only to assess the concentration of one or more pollutants, but also to estimate annual flows (continuous concentration measurement, flow measurement, etc.), as well as the physico-chemical characteristics, shape and size of particles.
A typical measurement sequence consists of :
design the sampling strategy ;
take samples;
analyze samples ;
draw up a report on measurement results.
We need to be rigorous in the definition and conduct of sampling to ensure that the results are representative. The strategy must be discussed by the social and economic committee (CSE).
