6. Conclusion

The tests carried out to ensure the fire performance of means of transport are highly dependent on the fire and evacuation scenarios considered. This leads to considerable disparities in the type of materials and products that can be used in a given context. Nevertheless, it should be noted that maritime and rail transport standards are converging, and that the same products can now meet the requirements of both standards.

The standards described are applied on a European or international scale, and this homogenization will continue in the future due to globalization and the reduction in the number of players. Last but not least, openings in the field of fire safety engineering are developing, enabling the integration of innovative solutions.
