5. Conclusion
With fire safety engineering, in the context of performance-based regulations, fire is no longer a regulatory constraint to which the designer and user of a structure are subject, but becomes an action in the design of the structure, in the same way as wind, snow and earthquake for building design. What's more, unlike these actions, fire is the only one on which it is possible to intervene to minimize damage.
Fire safety engineering allows much greater flexibility in the design of structures, insofar as the means of prevention and protection to be implemented are best adapted to operating constraints or to the architectural design sought.
