5. Risk communication
5.1 Definition
According to the EU Regulation of January 28, 2002, risk communication is "the interactive exchange of information and opinions on hazards and risks, risk factors and risk perceptions throughout the risk analysis process between risk assessors and risk managers, consumers, food and feed businesses, academia and other interested parties, including the explanation of risk assessment results and the basis for risk management decisions".
