6. Conclusion
The requirements for MMRI introduced by the Order of October 4, 2010 reinforce those already introduced by the Order of September 29, 2005. This decree, which covers all MMRs and not just MMRIs, requires proof of effectiveness, implementation kinetics, testability and maintainability before an MMR can be selected as part of an accident probability assessment. Although these various criteria were already covered in the context of hazard studies, it has to be admitted that the elements needed to assess the resources deployed to guarantee their durability over time were poorly developed. The requirements relating to MMRI fill this gap by encouraging manufacturers to formalize the actions implemented to combat the aging of these systems, which can lead to a drift in their performance.
