5. MMRI monitoring program and plan

Manufacturers must set up a monitoring plan for the MMRIs to be monitored. This plan must specify the methodology for managing and controlling the ageing of MMRI. It must provide a framework for operations to ensure :

  • preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failure;

  • corrective maintenance to restore equipment that has broken down, or on detection of a fault highlighted during a periodic test or equipment self-diagnosis.

The plan must also cover the management of spare parts and equipment obsolescence.

To define this plan, the following elements can be taken into account.

  • Reliability requirements: depending on the "reliability" expected of the equipment making up a MMRI, to achieve a SIL or NC level...
