Directive; Directive

Community legal act imposing certain objectives on the Member States of the European Union without imposing specific means.

Regulation; Règlement

A Community legal act that is binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all EU member states.

Norme harmonisée; Harmonized standard

Standard drawn up by the European standards organizations in response to a standardization mandate from the European Commission.
