9.1 Use of B and industrial sectors

Initially, the industrial sector using B was mainly rail transport, certainly due to the difficult experience of the SACEM project on line A of the RER, and thanks to the major investments made by RATP, SNCF and INRETS to industrialize the method, and to the work of SIEMENS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM for the safety automation of line 14 (METEOR).

Note :

SACEM is a driving, operating and maintenance assistance system, commissioned in 1988, which equips RER line A and has increased transport capacity by almost 20%; it includes highly critical software.
