2. Accidents at work

2.1 Definition of an industrial accident

According to Article L. 411.1 of the French Social Security Code: "An accident at work, whatever its cause, is considered to be any accident caused by or in the course of work to any person employed or working, in any capacity or in any place whatsoever, for one or more employers or company managers". This means that any accident occurring during work is presumed to be an accident at work. It is the existence of a subordinate relationship that establishes the work situation. Thus, a person on assignment who suffers a transport accident must be treated as a work-related accident.
