4. Case studies

To illustrate a practical application of the methods, we consider the following situation.

At a petrochemical site, a hazard analysis identified and quantified all possible major accident scenarios.

With regard to explosion scenarios, hazard studies only provide the distances at which regulatory overpressure thresholds are reached. These thresholds, according to the Order of September 29, 2005, are given in table 10 .
