6.1 Experimental methods

Decomposition reactions can be studied using a variety of experimental techniques [SE 5 040] . These can be classified into two main groups: differential thermal analysis (DTA), with micro-calorimetric methods such as DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and Calvet calorimetry, and adiabatic methods such as ARC (Accelerating Rate Calorimetry), VSP (Vent Sizing Package), and so on.
