1. Check whether the product falls within the scope of the SDS
You must first identify whether you are dealing with an article, substance or mixture:
if you are dealing with an article that releases substances, then you can request the SDS corresponding to the "releasable" substance;
if you are dealing with a non-releasing article, no SDS can be required; this tool is specific to substances and mixtures; however, you should provide information on the safe use of the article if it contains an SVHC at more than 0.1% m/m (article 33 of REACh), see Authorization of a substance: understanding and knowing if a substance is subject to authorization
