4. Determine the classification of the substance and its impurities

To establish the classification of the substance, the indications of danger will be listed and associated with the risk phrases as identified in the previous steps.

It is also necessary to take into account the classification of impurities and additives that may be included in the composition of the substance. The classification is then established according to their percentage, as would be done for a mixture.

Attention

These impurities or additives may already have a harmonized classification with specific limits and an M factor that must be taken into account.
