5. Understanding the obligations associated with switching providers

You have identified the obligations associated with diversifying your suppliers. There are several steps you can take to ensure compliance with REACH regulations.

  • For your new suppliers based in the EEA, you should ensure that they have registered the substance.

  • You should also make sure that your uses are covered to avoid having to file a CSA.

  • For your new suppliers based outside the EEA, you should identify those who have appointed an only representative or who supply you with re-imported substances. This will allow you to exclude these imported quantities from the calculation of your annual imported tonnage.
