5. What equipment is authorized, depending on the materials to be transported?

5.1 Choice of container type

As in the case of packages, to determine which "bulk" transport equipment is authorized to carry a substance, it must first be assigned a UN number (see How to classify dangerous goods [FIC 1233] ).

Table § 3.2 of the ADR indicates, for each UN number, the different possible materials. The absence of a code indicates that the corresponding material is not authorized.
