4. What regulatory impact can the classification of a substance have?

Classification is also a tool for identifying hazardous chemicals in a number of downstream regulations. They rely on the existence of a classification to define the substances and mixtures concerned by the regulatory prevention measures they set.

For example, in the context of worker protection, the chemical risk assessment carried out at the workstation must take into account classified chemicals handled.
