PDCA is used to manage actions while ensuring their effectiveness and relevance. As part of a chemical risk assessment, PDCA is used to validate risk reduction actions.

PDCA: a tool for continuous improvement

PDCA stands for Plan, Do, Check, Act.

  • Plan for planning the subject to be dealt with or the actions to be taken: define the elements for success of the problem to be dealt with (actions, drivers, deadlines, resources, etc.).

  • Do for the implementation of planned elements: carry out actions in accordance with the planned schedule.

  • Check for implementation: check that what has been put in place corresponds to the problem to be addressed and that the actions are effective.
