biomass productivity

Characterizes the production performance of a cultivation system, giving the biomass produced over a given operating time, per unit of volume or lit surface area of the cultivation system. Productivity is the result of a large number of factors linked to the microalgae cultivated, the cultivation technology, and the operating conditions and mode (discontinuous, continuous or other harvesting strategy). In all cases, it is linked to the volumetric growth rate (r x ), which characterizes the growth kinetics of the microorganism in the culture system.
