2.1 Biosensors on the market

As we have already mentioned, numerous biosensors based on various immobilization and detection modes and configurations have been developed. In this section, we will focus mainly on biosensors that have already been commercialized. Since 1962, numerous electrochemical and optical biosensors have been described. However, only electrochemical systems have been commercialized, and these will be described below.
