Biosensor; biosensor

A device that combines a support on which biochemical compounds (enzyme, antibody, antigen, DNA, RNA, cell, etc.) are immobilized, enabling recognition of an analyte, and a transducer that transforms the recognition event – for example, an antibody/antigen reaction – into a quantifiable physical signal. Precise and reliable, these biosensors have a wide range of potential applications, such as the detection of specific molecules or pathogenic agents, in the healthcare, agri-food or military industries.

Biomarker

Biological molecule (protein, DNA) overexpressed or abnormally absent in a pathological process such as a viral or bacterial infection. The biomarker of a pathogen can therefore serve as an indicator of a disease or pathological state, which can be measured in infected samples....
